Central Himalayan Institute for Nature & Applied Research (CHINAR) is mainly dedicated for mountain development which include environmental sustainability, livelihoods improvement of mountain communities, conservation and promotion of culture, documentation and promotion of traditional knowledge system and research in the mountains.
One of its livelihoods program is Tourism (Nature Based and Rural Responsible Tourism), first one is mainly to connect people with environmental issues and second one is mainly to improve the livelihoods of the marginalized mountain communities and also to give an experience to tourists to learn about mountain ecosystems and communities and give back something to the communities.
"They have both these products but they need to market them to reach to a wider audience."
